Program Internship

The internship is an experiential learning opportunity, whereby students actively
participate in a professional environment under the tutelage, of a site supervisor. Ideally the internship enables the student to integrate classroom theory with practical experience in professional and amateur sport settings, exercise and fitness facilities, recreational programs and tourist industry activities. As an elective within the Sport Administration core curriculum, students meeting specific academic criteria may opt to do an internship in lieu of elective course work. Students successfully completing the internship are awarded academic credit for their participation. A variety of internship opportunities exist through the HHP Department. Individually identified internship opportunities may be negotiated with the approval of the Department Internship Coordinator and sport or fitness setting site supervisor.
